Somers Troop 228

I first joined Troop 228 in 1995 when my son Ryan became involved with scouting, and I worked with him until he earned the rank of eagle Scout. At first I was just a "dad." As I became more involved, I was asked by the Troop Committee to take scouts out on high adventure trips. I did one trip to the Florida Keys and four canoe treks in the Adirondacks. I retired from high adventure duty in 2003. I served for many years on the troop committee as Advancement Chairman and currently serve as the Eagle Scout Mentor. I enjoy working with all the boys as they advance in rank, but especially enjoy working with the Eagle candidates. I have made many good friends during my years in scouting, and I look forward to many more good years.
